I’m really excited today (just like every other day) to share what the Lord has placed in my spirit.

Today’s topic is on Friendships.

The Bible is very categorical about the kind of company that we keep.

“Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.””

1 Corinthians 15:33 NLT

There’s is a saying that one is the average of the people they surround themselves with.

There are great examples of what a God-sent friend(s) can do in a person’s life.

In 1 Samuel 18, we see how David’s best friend Jonathan, saved him from the jaws of death. Jonathan chose David’s side over his very own father! Now that’s a friend indeed!

“There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.”

Proverbs 18:24 NLT

A friend is a divine helper, a confidant, a cheerleader, a shoulder to lean to lean on and so much more! These too are the attributes of the Holy Spirit.

What kind of company do we keep? 

What are the outcomes of spending time with certain people? Are your friends helping you achieve your God-given purpose here on earth?

Those are some of the questions we need to ask ourselves before we brandish the term ‘friend’ on someone.

Most importantly, what kind of friend are you?

It all starts with you.

Ponder on that.
