Do me a Favour, Lord

Children of God,

What’s cracking?

If you’re my friend and I happen not to talk to you for the next few months, please do not think it’s a you problem. Academic writing had me talking to myself in the middle of the night. Granted this was my own doing because procrastination always seems viable until you come face to face with all the things you should have done earlier – like researching! If you see me in public, I give you full permission to sternly tell me, “You need to be studying!”

I promise you, this is the last time I am procrastinating like this. It’s not funny! I am looking at the clock and begging it to turn back its hands because its almost midnight as I write this yet there is nothing else I can do except trudge on.

“Dear God, could you please make time stand still for my sake? You are the best-est Father ever and I love You. You are my Sugar-plum, Butterscotch Cookie and I beseech Thee to make time stand still for me just like You did for Joshua. There some academic Amorites I need You to help me defeat before the sun goes down. Thank You Precious Father for doing it for me. I love You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.”

In my country, there is a colloquial phrase, “seeing (bad) things”, and I am uncertain how to explain the phrase to you but I believe it should be self-explanatory at best. I am seeing a couple of things, good people. I am seeing things! Cheeei!

I have extensively gone through one section of my report only to realize that I am not even a quarter way through. Can you believe that?

“Serikali saidia” as Kenyans would say.

It is squarely my fault, I admit but I could still do with a hug because I am seeing things! I am not going to talk to anyone for now and I will probably become a hermit for the next few days because I am really seeing things!

You may wonder why I am blogging instead of proceeding with my research right now but look, I would rather seek my Lord when the going gets tough. I am also mentally fatigued and writing is my best outlet. If I happen to write you a letter then know that it is deep.

Could someone call my mum and dad for me? I miss them so much! I want to go home… again. I want to sleep too. The rate at which I am yawning could earn me a trophy in a yawning contest. I am listening to Kool Matopé’s Papa Téléma as I type and I am beginning to suspect this Gospel ballad is the one catalyzing my drowsiness. I’ve been buried in books all day and night under intense duress, I barely slept yesterday. It’s now the wee hours of the morning and this song seems to lulling me to slumber land but thou shall sleep not but shall continue to write in the Name of the Lord.

On a serious note, I am legitimately sleepy so let me bid you a good night at this juncture before I start “sleep-typing” lol. However, if you are not born again yet, would you like to give your life to Christ? He is amazing and a bag of chips. Also, if you do not give your life to Christ, you will start “seeing things” 😛 so let’s just do it now, shall we?

Please repeat the prayer below out loud:

Dear Lord,

Thank You for dying on the cross for me. I believe in my heart that you died and rose again and I confess with my mouth that You are Lord and Saviour in my heart and in my life. I denounce my former ways and choose to be Your child. Thank You for setting me free. I am now born again.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

You are now born again! Congratulations! This will remain the ultimate best decision of your life.

In closing, please pray for me brethen; your girl is seeing some serious things.

Meanwhile, please send me food or money, ideally both, as a consolation offering 😉 😛 . Thanks in advance ❤ .

Remember to brush your teeth before you sleep.

God loves you deeply.

XO,

That Lady
