Good people,
I am happy to be writing to you once again.

I am channeling my inner Apostle Paul, as he wrote his letters to the early church.
This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus. I have been sent out to tell others about the life he has promised through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:1 NLT
I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self.
Philemon 1:19 NIV
On the International Day of the Girl Child and I was honoured with a nomination from the High Commission of Canada to Kenya, to be a FEMtor (a portmanteau of female and mentor) to a group of teenage girls from Mathare slums.

Their stories brought tears to my eyes; yet, hope was kindled in my spirit. In spite of their challenging circumstances, these girls have defied the odds of sexual abuse, gender based violence, teenage pregnancies, early marriages, abject poverty and so much more; to curve out their niche as peer counselors, business owners (yes, at that young age), female rights activists and a beacon of hope for other girls who are in or have been in their position.

Some girls have young children to feed while they themselves are still children, some are on scholarship eager to pursue their education and I could go on.
When I left, I was stirred up. These stories always seem “far away” when you read them in the newspapers or hear about them in the News; but sitting next to young girl who is a victim of sexual abuse from her father, is a teenage mother and is still in the front line to fend for herself and her child, does something to you. This was no longer a story, but a person I was looking at. Watching a little girl chomping food with the voracity of a turbo charged lawn mower because the last meal she had was two days ago, made me want to take up all these girls under my care. One girl shared that, “I became a mother before I knew what it means to be child myself.” I was balancing tears at that point. Their stories were deep. For many of the girls, sanitary towels was a luxury item. When balancing priorities between buying food and buying menstrual pads, food takes precedence as they cannot afford both.
There is a reason why He took me there, and made me feel the way I did. God wants me to do something about it.
When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
Luke 2:48 NLT
Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
James 2:15-16 NLT
The Gospel is advanced through works, and not just words. That is how to spread the fragrance of Christ to the world.
Defend the weak and the fatherless;
Psalms 82:3-4 NIV
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
I was hungry. You gave me food. I was thirsty. You gave me a drink. I was a stranger. You took me in. I needed clothes. You gave me clothes. I was sick. You came to visit me. I was in prison. You came to see me.”
Matthew 25:35-36 NIV
Inasmuch as I cannot take these girls under my wing; with joint effort, we can support them. As a first step, my pal and I have committed to buying sanitary towels for these girls every month. Every quarter, we will then go to visit the girls in the slums but the supply of the pads will be monthly. This is just a humble start; and with more people joining us, we can and will do more. This pal really challenged me when she told me that she brought a number of her friends together and sponsored one of the girls to go to university, and not just any public university; but the most expensive, elite private university in Kenya. God bless her immensely.
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
James 2: 17-18 NLT
My first clarion call is to ask those of you who are interesting in joining hands for this worthy cause. Please send me a direct message and we can work together to spread the Gospel through works. Ideas are welcome too.
My second clarion call is to ask whether you would like to come to the Christ side of life, if you are not already born again. If your answer is yes, then please repeat the prayer below out loud:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for dying on the cross for me. I believe in my heart that you died and rose again and I confess with my mouth that You are Lord and Saviour in my heart and in my life. I denounce my former ways and choose to be Your child. Thank You for setting me free. I am now born again.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
