Hey! Hey! Hey! 👋🏽
🤗🎊Happy New Year to you! 🎊🤗
Wasn’t December so much fun? Look at the aftermath of the festivities:
I ate too much. Now I can’t sleep because I’m too full…😭
It was exactly 00:04 on the 22nd of December, 2018 when I jotted down the above statement.
In retrospect, all the merry making that goes on in December should be carried forward to January as well. Don’t you think so too? I highly doubt whether I’ve ever attended a wedding or a staff party in the month of January but erm… Who knows? Let’s see how it goes this year. It’s only the first week of the month so let me not make conclusions just yet.
Now, if you’re planning a shindig (apart from birthdays), why not consider holding it in January? Then make a point of inviting me. 😋 I’m quite the eligible guest; I dress to the nines, I’m great at conversations and your pictures will look much better by virtue of me being in them. 😉 I believe I’ve petitioned my case well so let the invites floooow!
Okay, let’s get back to the [main] story.
Remember I was too full to sleep on that fateful night in December? [See my rhymes?😎] So what did I do in the interim? I decided to write!
Well, I was not writing at that hour simply because I was too uncomfortable to sleep; but a fun fact about me is that the wee hours of the morning are usually the times I do a myriad of things; composing blog posts being one of them. God fanned into flames the gift of writing that He bestowed unto me so He is the one who inspires the script.
I have a very animated mind; I believe you can tell from all the GIFs & emojis that I use in my articles. If only I could incorporate sound effects in my writing; then that would have been the real deal! 😎
[Blow siren!]
Whenever I read a story in the Bible, the characters usually come alive to me. As the characters become animate in my head, there are some questions that follow suit concerning a particular persona. For instance, when I was reading the four Gospels, I would wonder:
- Was Jesus ever spanked by His parents?
- How was Jesus as a child? Was He naughty?
- What kind of big brother was Jesus? Did He ever fight with His siblings at one point or the other?
- Did Jesus have a lisp?
- Did any girl(s) have a crush on Jesus and did she approach Him? If yes, what was Jesus’ response?
- Did Jesus ever sing? What were His favorite jams?
Sometimes I tweet these interesting thoughts of mine….
At times I go through some of my tweets and just laugh!😆
But for real though; do you think Jesus was a good dancer?
Another character in the New Testament that really fascinates me is Apostle Paul. That guy literally had nine lives; cats aside. I mean, he was flogged, imprisoned, stoned … the whole shebang but the guy endured persecution like a ninja! Coming to think of it, are ninjas the S.I. unit of sturdiness? 🤨
When I start talking about King David, I could go on and on. The Bible says that he was one fine man [ahem 😎]; just take a look at this:
‘Jesse sent for him. He was brought in, the very picture of health—bright-eyed, good-looking. God said, “Up on your feet! Anoint him! This is the one.”’
1 Samuel 16:12 MSG
‘and when he got a good look at David, he was filled with scorn for him because he was just a nice, good-looking boy.’
1 Samuel 17:42 GNT
The word ‘handsome’ is seldom used in the Bible to describe a man so whenever the terms ‘handsome’ and ‘good looking’ are used every so often to describe David, then best believe he must have been featuring in Israel’s Top Ten good looking men. No wonder David said that he was fearfully and wonderfully made! 😉
‘I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.’
Psalm 139:14 NIV
The Bible is the most interesting book to read. There is so much to indulge in; the humour, the suspense, the sarcasm, the romance, the betrayal.. My! My! My! I encourage you to read any Biblical story and tell me how it goes. Immerse yourself in the character of the person being written about and tell me if you won’t be in for a rollercoaster ride! Have you read the story of Jonah? He was swallowed by a fish; no kidding. A human being was inside a fish! It even sounds surreal.
‘Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.’
Jonah 1:17 NIV
Then there are some stories that are outright hilarious! There’s a time King David’s men went to battle and the adversaries cut off their clothing at the buttocks thus leaving their ‘behind’ out in the open! 😅
‘So Hanun seized David’s envoys, shaved off half of each man’s beard, cut off their garments at the buttocks, and sent them away.’
2 Samuel 10:4 NIV
I was literally reeling over with laughter as I read that particular verse. Who does that though? 😅 Those people were straight savage! 😈
Don’t you just love the Bible and all its stories? I believe that Midnight Musings should have a sequel. All in favour say, “Heyyyyy!”
By God’s grace I will share more of my interesting thoughts with you as the year goes by.
What’s your favorite Bible story? I’d love to hear from you too so comment, comment, comment and let’s get talking.
Blessed 2019 to you!
God loves you so much!

Hey Amanda, I love your articles. They are fresh and make me feel young again. Remind me of how I used to think when I was younger and somehow I don’t dream as much any more….sad face.
Anyway I think my teenage daughters would really love to read your articles. Its a nice way to witness to young people.

My(one of) favorite story is the story of Esther. Maybe not the funniest but I like how brave she was and how God used her.
