Hey! Hey! Hey!
God wants us to have the power of the Holy Spirit. Straight up.
God’s miraculous power is available for us at any given point and at any given time for as long as we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
Let me give you two examples:
(a) Peter and John ministered to the lame man from the overflow of the Holy Spirit.
“And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.”
Acts 3:4, 6-8 NKJV
(b) Jesus Himself was baptized with the Holy Spirit before He began His ministry and y’all know that Jesus did some pretty dope things when He was alive; right? That divine enablement was through the Holy Spirit.
‘When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. ‘
Matthew 3:16 NKJV
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
Acts 10:38 NKJV
‘And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.’
John 21:25 NKJV
Well, well, well… so I believe by now you can infer what the s*! is? Any takers? No one? Okay, let me tell you then…
I’m on a roll today with these Kevin Hart memes!
Lighten up ey?
We see from examples (a) and (b) above that one is most effective in their work when they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Hehehehe!
The Holy Spirit is not a reserve for those ministering in the church set up alone or for the elite few; each and every person, in whichever capacity, needs to be effective in their work. The only qualifying criteria for one to receive the Holy Spirit is that they need to be born again. That’s it! If you’re born again then you’re eligible to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit!
‘‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on ALL flesh; …’
Acts 2:17 NKJV
‘…. “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” …..’
Acts 19:2 NKJV
The Holy Spirit augments one’s ability to perform and reveals God’s wisdom to the person.
““I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t handle them now. But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won’t draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. He will honor me; he will take from me and deliver it to you. Everything the Father has is also mine. That is why I’ve said, ‘He takes from me and delivers to you.’”
John 16:12-15 MSG
The guidance of the Holy Spirit is required in all facets of our lives; whether in the home, in ministry, in the workplace… you become a much better person when the Holy Spirit resides in you.
Let me set the record straight that other principles of effectiveness such as time management, goal setting, diligence still need to be adhered to even when one is filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit simply makes you (more) awesome.
I believe I’ve made quite the compelling case about the Holy Spirit huh? So would you like to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit? But before we get there; are you born again? Because before you receive the awesomeness of the Holy Spirit, you first need to receive the life of Christ. Are you ready? Read the prayer below out loud:
Lord Jesus, I heed to your call in my life. I denounce the devil and my evil ways and I choose You to be Lord and Savior in my life. I believe in my heart that You died on the cross to set me free. I believe that You rose again from the dead so that I may have eternal life. I receive the life of Christ in me today. I am saved. I have been set free. I am born again. Thank You Jesus. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ Name.
