I love pictures – taking them, posing for them – you name it. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say.

Picture perfect! Believe it or not, this picture was captured when I was totally unaware! Image source: Harvesters Global Church Gallery

On the 2nd of August, 2018; I received a congratulatory email informing me that I had been nominated to participate in the 45th session of the plenary meeting of the United Nations Committee on Food Security (CFS) in Rome, Italy. (I will write more on this mission so stay put. 😉 )

God had put this desire in me to have a professional photo shoot done in a foreign country and what better backdrop than Ancient Rome? God’s ways are so perfect! I prayed that I would get a photographer who would understand my vision and execute it in excellence. Here is where I cue in Kathryn Aime. Before settling on who would be taking my pictures, I wanted first hand recommendations of a Rome-based photographer as I did not want to go with online picks. I asked a few acquaintances of mine in Rome but none of them had a personal recommendation to a photographer; they all re-directed me to search the internet but.… I did not relent. I knew that the person who would be taking my pictures would be a person after God’s own heart.

One fateful day as I was scrolling through my Instagram timeline, I noticed one of the evangelists I follow; Jules the Explorer, was in Rome! Perfect timing right? So I commented on Jules’ picture, asking her for a Rome-based photographer and she tagged Kathryn Aime! I immediately sent a private message to Kathryn and we arranged for a video call. You know what? Kathryn was born-again! I got to find this out during our virtual meeting. Furthermore, she was exactly what I wanted in a photographer. I had a preference for a female photographer as I wanted an on-location shoot that would involve a number of outfit changes and God gave me precisely what I desired; and more.

Come the morning of the shoot; Kathryn came to my hotel and we chose the outfits together before heading out to the beautiful walk around Rome’s major historic sites; the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and all of Rome’s iconic streets. Kathryn treated me to the classic Italian breakfast of coffee and croissants before we started the great trek. How sweet!

Colossal view! Kathryn captured a spectacular picture of me against the beautiful backdrop of the magnificent Colosseum.

During our walk, we shared lots about Jesus and each other’s God-given ministry. Kathryn told me that she’s a youth pastor and she loves ministering the Gospel of Christ! Remember that I wanted a photographer after God’s own heart right? Mmmhhh! Kathryn Aime was God’s perfect answer to my prayer. I totally loved how she made me feel beautiful as she constantly punctuated our conversation with several compliments about my looks. I shared numerous testimonies with her about God’s mighty work in my life. We started the photo-shoot with a prayer and God ordered our steps. It was such a pleasant morning.

‘Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.’

Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)

‘We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.’

Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

This is not a promotional blog post; please don’t get me wrong. I am writing this to show you that God is interested in each and every part of our lives.

Oftentimes people say that there is nothing too big or too hard for the Lord; that is very true; but seldom would you hear someone say that there is nothing too simple or too small for the Lord! People tend to involve God in the ‘major, complex stuff’ and leave Him out in what some may perceive as trivial or insignificant. Believe me, God is still concerned in those ‘small things’.

I am reminded of how God manifested Himself to Elijah as a still small voice.

‘“Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. ‘

1 Kings 19:11-12 (NLT)

God was not in the thunder, neither was He in the fire; He was the sound of a gentle whisper. What is it that you have not involved God in? Is it choosing an outfit for your interview? Is it deciding which colour to paint your house? There is nothing too small for God; absolutely nothing. I am reminded of a common English saying that, “It’s the little things that count.” It is the heeding to the small promptings of the Holy Spirit that lead to major victories. It is the continuous small steps that makes one cover great ground.

Whatever you think is small is actually your mustard seed of faith and it will grow into a huge, magnificent tree to be beheld and admired by all.

‘Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.”’

Matthew 13:31-32 (NLT)

I entrusted my photo-shoot to God and He did exceedingly, abundantly above what I asked for or could even have imagined. The Lord not only gave me an extremely talented photographer, He gave me a new friend! I bless His Holy Name!

In order for you to rely on God for every decision in your life; you need to establish a relationship with Him as your Father and this is done by first receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour in your life.

If you’re reading this post and are not born again and would like to receive Christ or re-dedicate your life to Him; please repeat this prayer aloud:

Lord Jesus, I heed to your call in my life. I denounce the devil and my evil ways and I choose You to be Lord and Savior in my life. I believe in my heart that You died on the cross to set me free. I believe that You rose again from the dead so that I may have eternal life. I receive the life of Christ in me today. I am saved. I have been set free. I am born again. Thank You Jesus. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ Name.

Amen.

Congratulations for saying that prayer! You are now born again!

The how-to guide to salvation is:

Step 1. Believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord

Step 2. Confess with your mouth that which you believe in step 1 above

Succinct.

Yes, it’s that simple!

See below:

“In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

Romans 10:8-10 NLT

It is God’s desire for us to have eternal life and to fellowship with Him everyday. If you just got born again by reading the prayer above, I’d like to know how we can walk together in your salvation journey so please comment and I’ll reach out to you.

Also, please share with me the amazing things God has done or is doing in your life currently. The comments section below is ready just for YOU; yes you! 😉 So go ahead and testify! 🙂

‘And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony… ‘

Revelation 12:11 (AMP)

God loves you!

That Lady.

What ‘small thing’ have you asked God to help you with? How did that pan out?

Don’t you just love how faithful God is! I especially love how sometimes you think you’re asking for something small and He comes in and magnifies that ‘small’ act and makes it beautiful. Yesterday i had a patient that needed to go to theatre for a cesarean section because the baby was in breech. Despite having done a few of those, i was abit apprehensive about this case so i said a prayer just as i was going to theatre asking for a safe delivery and an uneventful surgery. God answered my prayer in a most unexpected way because she happened to have been carrying undiagnosed twins and everyone came out healthy and happy and safe.

      Undiagnosed twins?
      Wow!
So you left the theatre with two babies after that?
Please do share more; I’m intrigued.

I love how you are letting your light shine in your corner(s) of the world and to all you come in contact with. I remember how it shone on me when I came to Kenya with a desire no reservations and a relatively conservative budget. You constantly remind me that God can use all of us; and I know you will be rewarded outwardly. Your pics are beautiful, and I can’t wait to hear more about your work Sustainable Food sourcing. Love you my sister. 💞
